MINNEAPOLIS -- Georgia State fell at Minnesota 9-1 Tuesday night at Siebert Field.

Nick Gatewood homered for the Panthers (16-27), leading off the fourth inning with a blast to right center field, his third home run of the season.

The sophomore catcher also doubled in the first inning, collecting two of the Panthers' five hits.

Minnesota (26-14) jumped in front with three runs in the second inning off GSU starter Devin Vainer (0-2). Gatewood's homer made it 3-1 in the fourth, the but the Gophers answered with four unearned runs in the bottom of the frame.

The teams will conclude the midweek series Wednesday with a 7:30 p.m. ET game that will air on Big Ten Network Plus.
