ATLANTA - Eight members of the Georgia State women's basketball team earned academic honors for the 2017 spring semester.

Haley Gerrin and Jada Lewis led the way as the pair both earned spots on the President's List for a GPA of 4.0 or above. Gerrin's 4.15 GPA was best on the team.

Tiffany Holston and Tatianna Jackson made the Dean's List (3.5-3.99 GPA) and Kierra Henry, Francesca Minali, Alaysia Mitchell and Kennesha Nichols made the AD Honor Roll (3.0-3.49 GPA).

The Georgia State Department of Athletics shattered all previous records with a 3.30 grade-point average for the spring semester and 227 student-athletes earning academic honors.

The 3.30 GPA topped the previous semester record of 3.18 set last spring. The outstanding semester gives the athletic department a GPA of 3.22 for the 2016-17 academic year. The combined cumulative GPA for all student-athletes now sits at 3.25, also an all-time high.

A record 51 student-athletes earned President's List recognition, Georgia State's highest academic distinction signifying a semester GPA of 4.0 or higher. Rhett Harper of the baseball team and women's golfer Solene Le Coz were the top individuals, each with a 4.30 semester GPA - straight A-plusses.

Eighty-seven individuals achieved Dean's List status with a semester GPA of 3.5-3.99, also a high for the department, and another 89 student-athletes made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll with a 3.0 or higher.
