MOBILE- Georgia State volleyball stumbled at South Alabama Friday night, three sets to one (25-18, 26-28, 25-17, 25-18). The Panthers are now 1-2 in Sun Belt play.

Georgia State got off to a sluggish start as South Alabama took set one 25-18. The Panthers would show resiliency and battle back to win a marathon second set 28-26. The third set saw GSU and South Alabama play each other close early, but the Jaguars would pull away for a 25-17 win. South Alabama would roll in the fourth set to a 25-18 victory and clinch the match.

Crystal Lee led the way for GSU with 12 kills and 13 digs. It was the first time this season that the junior had a double-double and the Panthers could not secure the victory. Jha’Meisheia Griffin added 10 kills of her own and hit and impressive .364 for the match.

The Panthers are back in action tomorrow night at Troy. The match will be available to stream on ESPN3, and live stats will be available on the Georgia State volleyball schedule page.
