ATLANTA - Tipping off at 11 a.m., Georgia State and Georgia Tech went head-to-head Tuesday with the Yellow Jackets coming out on top, 75-51.

Kierra Henry scored a career-high 17 points in the loss, going 6-for-11 from the floor and 4-for-6 from the free throw line. Henry also grabbed four rebounds, four assists and tallied four steals on defense. Madison Newby totaled 10 points and added a team-high seven rebounds and four assists.

The Yellow Jackets forced 28 turnovers and scored 17 fast-break points to bring down the Panthers. Georgia State was playing strong defense in the first half and was within four points of GT when the Yellow Jackets broke off a 17-2 run headed into halftime. 

Limited by injuries, head coach Sharon Baldwin used just nine players with four Panthers getting 29 or more minutes on the court. True freshman Deja Mitchell played 39 minutes and finished with six points, four rebounds and three steals. 

Up next for the Panthers is the GSU Thanksgiving Classic which will feature GSU, VCU, Mercer and WKU. Georgia State will play VCU Friday at 4 p.m. and again on Sunday at 2 p.m. against WKU. WKU and Mercer play at 6 p.m. on Friday and Mercer and VCU face off Sunday at 4 p.m.
