ATLANTA -- Georgia State's 2018 football game at Memphis will be played on Friday, Sept. 14 at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium and will be televised on one of the ESPN family of networks.

The kickoff time and the ESPN network will be announced at a later date.

The Panthers are coming off a school-record seven-win season under first-year head coach Shawn Elliott, highlighted by Georgia State's first bowl victory, 27-17 over Western Kentucky in the AutoNation Cure Bowl. Top returnees for the Panthers include receiver Penny Hart, linebacker Michael Shaw and cornerback Jerome Smith.

Memphis went 10-3 in 2017, including a 21-20 loss to Iowa State in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.

Georgia State and Memphis will be meeting for the first time after Memphis and the American Athletic Conference elected to cancel the 2017 matchup that was scheduled for Sept. 30 in Atlanta in a rescheduling shuffle caused by Hurricane Irma.

In addition to the game at Memphis, Georgia State's 2018 non-conference slate includes home games vs. Kennesaw State (Aug. 30) and Western Michigan (Sept. 22) and a road test at NC State (Sept. 8).

The Sun Belt Conference schedule will feature divisional play for the first time with the Panthers in the East Division along with Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Troy. Georgia State's 2018 Sun Belt schedule includes home games against Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, ULM and Texas State, along with road contests at Arkansas State, Appalachian State, Louisiana and Troy.

Georgia State's complete 2018 schedule will be announced by the Sun Belt by March 1.
