ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia State’s softball team was defeated 7-0 at fifth-ranked Georgia Wednesday evening in Athens.

Remington Hasty and Skylar Mosel collected GSU’s two hits. Ivie Drake, Reagan Morgan, and Kirsten McMonigle each drew a walk.

Georgia scored first with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning of the bat of Justice Milz.

UGA added a run with a two-out double in the third to go in front 3-0.

The Bulldogs had a big inning in the bottom of the fourth aided by a GSU error. UGA used three hits to score four runs and pull ahead 7-0.

Georgia State threatened with runners on the corners in the sixth inning but couldn’t push any runs across.

Kinsley Jennings and Mandy Chance threw three innings each. Jennings struck out two and allowed three earned runs on four hits. Chance allowed one earned on six hits.

Next up for the Panthers is a road trip to Boone, N.C., for a three-game series at Appalachian State.
