Nick Buchs was hired by Georgia State in September of 2016. As the Director of Facilities and Operations, Buchs assists with various construction and renovation projects, as well as in the management of all athletic facility maintenance and event operation. This is his second stint at Georgia State.
Prior to coming returning to Georgia State, Buchs served as the Assistant General Manager for Event Services at Indiana University for nearly two years. He was responsible for the hiring, training, and supervising of 400 staff members across all major university venues, and was a Guest Services Administrator for home football and basketball games.
During his first stint at Georgia State, Buchs served as a Facilities/Operations/Grounds Graduate Assistant and received a Master’s Degree in Sport Administration in December of 2014. While a graduate assistant, he was responsible for the daily maintenance of athletic fields and grounds as well as the coordination with contractors for renovations and new construction projects.
Buchs received his undergraduate degree in mathematics education from Indiana and served as the Assistant Academics Advisor for the Hoosiers’ athletics department. Buchs is a native of Butler, Ind.
