ATLANTA – Georgia State men’s tennis head coach Jonathan Wolff announced the Panthers’ nine-tournament fall schedule Thursday morning. GSU will play four of its nine tournaments in its home state of Georgia.
“Our fall tournaments that we have scheduled will give every player on our team a chance to compete at the highest levels collegiately and, or professionally,” Wolff said. “We have a great group of players returning back to the roster as well as three new freshmen who will look to make an immediate impact. We could not be more excited to get the preseason started kicking things off at South Carolina.”
The Panthers kick off their fall schedule in Columbia, S.C. at the Gamecock Fall Invitational on Sept. 21-23 before a busy October slate. GSU then returns to its home state for the Mercer Gridiron Classic in Macon, Ga. on Oct. 5-7. A week later the team competes in the Georgia Gwinnett Invitational in Gwinnett, Ga. on Oct. 12-14.
Georgia State next heads to the Southeast Regionals in Athens, Ga. on Oct. 19-23 before rounding out the month with the UNC Charlotte 49er Invitational in Charlotte, N.C. and the Pro Circuit Futures in Birmingham, Ala. both running from Oct. 26-28.
GSU travels to Florida in early November for the Pro Circuit Futures in Niceville, Fla. on Nov. 1-4 and in Pensacola, Fla. on Nov. 9-11. The Panthers also compete in the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational in Atlanta on Nov. 9-11.
The Panthers return seven of their nine players from last year’s team that earned the No. 1 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and finished second in the conference.
