Billy Henley joined the Georgia State baseball staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2019 season. He works with the Panther catchers, coaches first base and assists with hitting instruction.
Henley brings experience from both the collegiate and high school ranks as well as travel baseball and collegiate summer baseball.
He spent the last two seasons at King's Ridge Christian School in the Atlanta suburbs, serving as associate head coach in 2017 and as the interim head coach/program coordinator in 2018. The two seasons prior, he served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Oglethorpe University (2015-16). He also spent three years (2011-14) as a varsity assistant coach at South Forsyth High School.
Henley has worked with Team Elite Baseball as a coach and roving catching instructor since 2011. In 2018, he served as Director of Baseball Operations for the Sunbelt Baseball League, a collegiate wood bat league based in Atlanta.
Henley played baseball at Georgia College, where he was a member of two conference championship teams and participated in the 2010 Division II World Series. He graduated from Georgia College with a degree in mathematics in 2011, and he added a master's degree in education from the University of Phoenix in 2013.
