ATLANTA -- Brooke Weiner and partner Kate Novack were a perfect 3-0 helping the beach volleyball team last week and have been named GSU Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday for a second-straight week.

Novack and Weiner completed their second straight perfect weekend, this time going 3-0 at the Seminole Beach Bash. All three wins were over ranked, conference opponents.

The duo began the weekend with a three-set win in the three flight in the Panthers’ near upset of No. 8 FIU. Novack and Weiner would earn the clinching point in State’s 5-0 sweep over No. 16 FAU, winning in two games.

The pair closed out the weekend with a win over No. 3 Florida State on the Seminoles’ home sand. After dropping the first set 21-18, Weiner and Novack rallied to take the second game 21-15 and win the deciding third 15-13.

Novack and Weiner hold a 16-6 record since becoming a pair in the second week of the season and are 9-2 against CCSA opponents. The duo has won seven straight matches in the three flight.

Novack, Weiner, and the rest of the Panthers will finish regular season play with three duals on Saturday at Austin Peay.
