Alec Brown joined the Georgia State Athletics Department in September 2019 and currently serves as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach working primarily with the baseball, softball, and men’s soccer teams.
Prior to joining Georgia State, Brown spent two years at a private training facility leading all aspects of training from 2017-2019. He trained a broad range of clients including; an MLB All-Star, youth, middle, and high school athletes, CEO’s, collegiate athletes, 10 professional athletes in pro baseball, triathletes, tactical athletes, and 35 youth soccer teams.
Brown’s previous collegiate athletics experience includes assisting training for swimming, softball, track, baseball, and football during his time as an intern with Georgia Tech’s Strength and Conditioning Program from 2016-2017. Additionally, he was able to assist with athlete monitoring via GPS technology, nutritional supplementation, visual training, and Georgia Tech’s NFL pro day camp. Prior to coaching at Georgia Tech, Brown served as a strength coach intern for Kennesaw State’s football team where he assisted with all aspects of training, working with injured student-athletes, and assisting in game day sideline management for the 2015 inaugural season.
During his time as a Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant at Kennesaw State, Brown led two research studies investigating adaptions from strength training for individuals with neuromuscular disorders. His research and training programs took him to the United Arab Emirates through a partnership with Kennesaw State’s Academy for Inclusive Learning and Social Growth. As guests of the Princess, Alec was fortunate to visit and work with the country’s adaptive schools and Paralympic sport programs.
Brown earned his Master’s Degree as an Honors Graduate maintaining a 4.0 GPA from Kennesaw State University studying Applied Exercise Physiology. Brown is a certified member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS) and holds certifications as a Reflexive Performance Reset Pro- Level 2, and Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) practitioner.
