Nakic Wins Tourney in Slovenia

Coming off a very successful freshman season, Georgia State tennis standout Diana Nakic continues to play winning tennis during the summer.

At home in her native Slovenia, Nakic recently won her country's National Championship tournament.

Nakic cruised to the finals of the 32-person draw, and then earned a three-set victory over Polona Rebersak, 3-6.6-2. 6-2, in the championship match.

The Colonial Athletic Association Player and Rookie of the Year, Nakic led the Panthers to the 2009 CAA Championship, earning Georgia State its first trip to the NCAA Championships. She was also selected for the NCAA Singles Championship but did not compete due to injury. She finished the year ranked No. 87 in the nation in singles.
