Former Georgia State baseball standout Chase Childers made his professional debut over the weekend for the Gulf Coast League Orioles.

In his first game, Childers started at shortstop and went 2-for-3 with a triple, two walks and two runs scored Friday against the GCL Rays. He singled in his first professional at-bat.

Through three games, the Kennesaw, Ga., native is batting .333 with a .467 on-base percentage.
