Georgia State men's golf coach Joe Inman will attempt to qualify for the U.S. Senior Open as he participates in sectional qualifying Tuesday at the Florence Country Club in Florence, S.C.
The 2009 U.S. Senior Open is scheduled for July 27-Aug. 2 at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.
Inman just completed his first season at the helm of the Georgia State program, leading the Panthers to their 10th NCAA berth in the last 11 years.
Inman has competed in the U.S. Senior Open seven times, most recently in 2007, making the cut every year but one. His best performance was a tie for third place in 1999.
Inman's pro playing career includes for victories, one on the PGA Tour and three on the Champions Tour, and he had nearly 100 Top 25 finishes on each circuit.
