Georgia State Basketball Band
Come for the best Basketball Band in the Land!
Our Georgia State University Basketball Band is the highlight of each game with their blue Afro wigs and unbelievable energy level. They create a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. The Georgia State Pep Band is comprised of a group of 35 talented Georgia State musicians. The instrumentation of the Basketball Band is Piccolo, Clarinet, Saxophone, Mellophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Sousaphones, Drum Set, and Bass Guitar. The Georgia State Basketball Band performs at all Men's and Women's Home Basketball games. The members of the band take pride in knowing that they are the basketball teams' largest fan base. They are extremely active and visible at games in order to provide in-game entertainment and increase fan participation.
Responsibilities:
The Georgia State Basketball Band performs at most Men's and Women's Home Basketball games. Their responsibilities also include supporting the team by cheering and supporting the cheerleaders by providing music during time-outs. In the future the Pep Band will also become more visible at Pep Rallies and other spirit-related events.
Auditions, rehearsals and a small number of games are required during the Fall Semester. Spring Semester involves most of the Basketball Band's commitments because the majority of basketball games are held during this period. During post-season play, thirty-five of the top members are chosen based on participation to travel with the team to the NCAA Tournament.
