ATLANTA--Erik Paz, formerly assistant compliance director at Marshall University, has been named Georgia State University's Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance.

Paz served nearly four years at Marshall, where he worked with all sports and developed expertise in all areas of compliance, including recruiting, initial and continuing eligibility and financial aid.

Before going to Marshall in May 2008, he spent one year as a compliance intern at the University of Miami.

"Erik is a tremendous addition to our athletics staff," said Jamie Boggs, Georgia State's Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Sports Services. "He has a wide range of experience in all areas of compliance, and he brings great energy, work ethic and passion to the job."

A native of Miami, Fla., Paz earned his bachelor's degree in sport administration from Miami in 2008, and he added a master's in sport administration from Marshall.
