ATLANTA--Georgia State women's
tennis junior Abigail Tere-Apisah and sophomore Masa Grgan earned the No. 19
ranking, the highest in school history, in the ITA Women's Doubles Rankings
released on Thursday.
The
doubles ranking is the first for GSU since 2010 when Tere-Apisah and senior
Maryna Kozachenko were No. 44 in the final ITA doubles rankings. Tere-Apisah
was also ranked No. 29 in the ITA Women's Singles Rankings and the Georgia
State women's tennis team begins its season ranked No. 70 in the team rankings.
GSU
enters its season opener while holding a national ranking for the
second-consecutive season. The Panthers, led by sixth-year head coach Miha
Lisac, are set to square off against 12 nationally-ranked opponents this
season.
The
Georgia State women's tennis team opens its season on Jan. 19 vs. 72-ranked
