Sjoholm Finishes 4 Under At Scottish Open

Sunday, July 14 - Former GSU All-American golfer Joel Sjoholm finished in a tie for 61st at four-under par in the 72-hole event at Castle Stuart Golf Links in Inverness, Scotland.

Sjoholm carded a six-under 138 for the first two days of the 156-golfer Scottish Open, following a 68 round on Friday.

The former Panther (Class of '07) trails Phil Mickelson by one stroke, plus Luke Donald, Martin Kaymer and Peter Lawrie by three strokes. Sjoholm sits ahead of more than 100 golfers in the 156-golfer field, including names like Louis Oosthuizen, Sandy Lyle, Colin Montgomerie and a host of European professionals. Two golfers lead at 132, six strokes ahead of Sjoholm, with two more tied at 133.

"The Swedish Toro," as Sjoholm is known, has already won almost $300,000 in American dollars in this season's European Tour. He was 76th overall in the money winnings before this tournament, behind Henrik Stenson in 75th and Jose Maria Olazabal in 74th.
