ATLANTA - Sophomore Whitney Ravan was named to the Third Team All-CAA, the conference announced Thursday night.
Ravan led the team in total points (11), scoring a team-high four goals. She also tied a team-high total of three assists. Ravan had two game-winning shots this season against Kennesaw State and Old Dominion , which was also a team-high.
"We are very proud of Whitney," coach Derek Leader said. "Whitney worked very hard in the offseason, especially over the summer, and it paid off. We look forward to her and the rest of the team getting back on the field and achieving better success next season.
Ravan's selection marks the sixth straight year at least one Georgia State women's soccer player has been awarded a conference honor.
"We feel that her and others were worthy, but our team record was not condusive to individual achievements," said Leader.
The native of Whitewater, Colo., played in 19 games last season, starting 10, and took 20 shots and connecting on three goals. She also added in two assists. Ravan started 14 games this season, playing in all 17 of the 2012-13 season.
