ATLANTA — The Georgia State softball team finalized their 2013 signing class by adding Taylor Thorpe, head coach Roger Kincaid announced.
The Panthers already had five recruits sign NLIs during the early signing period and complete the recruiting class with the addition of Thorpe.
The only 2013 commitment not from the state of Georgia, Thorpe comes from Dinwiddie High School in Dinwiddie, Va. She is capable of playing a number of positions, but will pitch and play first base for the Panthers. Thorpe was named the District Pitcher of the Year in 2012 and a two-time All-District selection.
The Panthers return 15 letterwinners from a 2012 team that finished with a record of 38-18. Kincaid enters his third season in charge of the GSU program. The 2013 season begins in February.
