Former Georgia State football standout Jake Muasau has re-signed with the New York Giants.

Muasau, a linebacker from Sierra Vista, Ariz., was the top player on the GSU defense in 2010-11, the Panthers' first two seasons of play.

He signed a free agent contract with the Giants last spring but was released during training camp.

Muasau will participate in the Giants' off-season program and attempt to make the squad for 2013 and become the second former Georgia State Panther to play in the NFL. Muasau's teammate, defensive lineman Christo Bilukidi, who spent the 2012 season with the Oakland Raiders.

Bilukidi played in 13 of the 16 games with the Raiders, and was on the game day deactivation list for the other three. The rookie played in 243 snaps with Oakland's defense. Bilukidi was credited with 12 tackles, including 8 solo stops, while also batting down a pass attempt.  After the spring NFL draft, Bilukidi signed a four-year, $2.2 million contract with the Raiders.
