Georgia State University is celebrating its 100th year anniversary during 2013. There will be many events throughout the year celebrating the event, including Centennial Game which took place on Jan. 12th as the men's basketball team hosted Delaware.

Each day throughout the rest of basketball season, GeorgiaStateSports.com will look back on a defining or historic moment in Panther basketball history.

Jan. 19, 1981 – The best player on the best women's team went wild for GSU at home in the Sports Arena. All-America 5-foot-8 guard Terese Allen poured in 33 points to lead GSU to a 101-58, 43-point romp over South Florida (USF) of the Sun Belt. Allen would become the Sun Belt league season MVP with her 23.4 season scoring average. This evening, GSU scored a school record 60 points in the first half to delight the home Panther fans. The 101 points was two points shy of the school record. This was the 6th win in a school-record 17-game win streak as the team later won the Region III Championship and advanced to the AIAW National Tournament (forerunner of the NCAA) and lost to NC State.

Jan. 19, 1999 - Coach Driesell's men's Panthers won a fifth straight game as they downed Mercer, 86-76, at the Macon Cerntreplex. Down three at the half, GSU roared back with four players in double figures, topped by Quincy Gause's 21 points. In winning the 10th game of the young season, GSU dominated on the glass, 43-22, over the conference rival Bears. It was one of the perfect 17-0 record of Driesell against teams in the state of Georgia.
