Jan. 23, 2005 – Not in my basket was what GSU senior center Sylvester Morgan was letting Mercer shooters know as he swatted away a school record nine shots in the Panthers 72-61 win on this date. Morgan was a one-man force in the paint as he scored 15 points (7-10 FG), grabbed 14 rebounds and was one blocked shot away from a rare triple double effort as he logged all 40 minutes in the win. The Panthers improved to 6-1 at home in front of the 1,200 fans and lowered Mercer’s mark to 10-6. Morgan’s inside play opened up the outside for GSU’s shooters as the Panthers knocked down 11 3-point baskets.
