ATLANTA – The 20th annual John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate hosted by Georgia State is set to get underway at Eagle’s Landing Country Club. The 54-hole event will take place Monday and Tuesday in Stockbridge, Ga.
Following a practice round on Sunday morning, the 14 teams will play 36 holes on Monday followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Both days will have a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
“We are very excited to be hosting the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate for the 20th year,” coach Cathy Mant said. “We have a great group of teams coming out to Eagle’s Landing Country Club, and we are looking forward to defending our home course.
“Eagle’s Landing is a great course and we are happy to be able to hold our tournament there. We are hoping the weather cooperates and look forward to a great tournament.”
The field, in addition to Georgia State, will consist of Delaware, Eastern Kentucky, Houston Baptist, Jacksonville State, Jacksonville, James Madison, Kent State, Murray State, Old Dominion, Samford, Southern Miss, Troy and UC Riverside.
Coach Mant’s line-up will stay identical to the rest of the spring tournaments. Senior Kimmy Graff will make her fourth consecutive start, joined by juniors Maria Palacios, Laura Sanchez, and Melissa Siviter, as well as freshmen Julie Lied. Lied, Palacios, and Sanchez have played in all seven of Georgia State’s tournaments this season.
