Georgia State's Lane Carico earned American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America honors for the 2013 season, GSU's inaugural year of the new sand volleyball program.

Carico teammed with Katie Madewell to earn a berth in the AVCA National Championships, May 3-5, at Gulf Shores, Ala.   As one of the 26 pairs who would play over the three days on the beach, Georgia State's duo survived the first cut of 10 teams on Saturday to advance to the finals.

On Sunday, they began their ascent from Sweet 16, into the Elite Eight, and on to the Final Four.

GeorgiaStateSports.com got this exclusive interview with the native Californian to describe their experiences at the National Championship, her status on becoming an All-American and the inaugural year of GSU sand volleyball.

Listen and enjoy as the All-American recaps her stories and storied season.
