March 30: GSU Day at the State Capitol

March 30, 2010 - Both the Senate and House of Representatives of the State Legislature declared today as Georgia State University Day.

Approximately 35-40 representatives of Georgia State, led by Dr. Mark P. Becker, and including Director of Athletics Cheryl L. Levick walked over to the Gold Dome to meet and greet the members and participate in the reading of the resolutions.

A group of students from the student government mixed with a group of student-athletes in a room off the main floor and provided morning food and beverage for the representatives. Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle was among those who came by to greet the GSU delegation, along with even UGA and Ga. Tech alum who wore their GSU stickers for the morning ceremonies.

GSU hung their banners from the atrium of the Capitol and Dr. Becker thanked the lawmakers for their support of higher education and the state's second largest university, Georgia State.

A photo album of Carolyn Richardson and Mike Holmes is included.
