ATLANTA--The Georgia State football program will hold spring walk-on tryouts for members of the student body from Jan. 24 to Jan. 28 at the on-campus practice facility located at 188 MLK Drive. Try-outs will be held from 6:30 to 8 a.m. each day.

The Panthers recently finished their first season of competition, going 6-5, concluding the year at Alabama.


Walk-on tryouts for the Georgia State football team are scheduled between Jan. 24 and Jan. 28, at 6:30 a.m. each morning, lasting for approximately one-and-a-half hours. The football practice site is located at 188 MLK Drive, about two blocks from the Sports Arena.

Tryouts are open to current GEORGIA STATE STUDENTS ONLY. You must be enrolled this semester as a full-time student, and you must be a freshman or sophomore.

All tryout participants must REGISTER by Jan. 17 in order to complete paperwork for NCAA compliance, academic standing and medical clearance.

There is NO PARKING available at the GSU Practice Complex, so tryout participants should walk from campus

In order to register for tryouts, please print the attached registration form, complete all information and take it to the Georgia State football office, located on the third floor of the Courtland Building, right next to the Sports Arena. After visiting the football office, tryout candidates will be directed to the sports medicine, academic services and compliance offices, all located in the Sports Arena.

Please do not wait until Jan. 17 to begin the registration process. If you do not complete all necessary paperwork by the Jan. 17 deadline, you will not be permitted to participate in the tryouts. NO EXCEPTIONS. No walkups will be allowed to participate.

Participants should report promptly at 6:30 a.m. Tryouts will be non-contact, with participants demonstrating speed, agility and football skills. Dress is shorts and sneakers or turf shoes.
