Brown will work directly with Director of Athletics Cheryl L. Levick to coordinate department events, strategic initiatives and special projects.

"Misty is a wonderful addition to our staff," said Levick, "and she will improve the efficiency of the Athletics Department."

Brown joins the GSU program from the University of Central Florida, where she served five years as Assistant Director of Development, Stewardship & Special Events for the UCF Athletics Association and UCF Foundation.

Before going to UCF in 2006, she served as community programs coordinator for the Town of Miami Lakes, Fla. (2005-06) and as special events coordinator for the City of Hollywood, Fla. (2002-05). Brown began her career as special events coordinator for the Orange Bowl Committee (2001-02).

Brown is a 2001 graduate of the University of Florida, where she lettered for the Gators' basketball team.
