Erik Paz joined the Georgia State Athletic Department in 2012 as Assistant A.D. for Compliance before being promoted to Associate Athletic Director. He supervises the compliance staff and is the day-to-day compliance contact for all internal and external constituents.
Paz directly prepares NCAA legislative waivers to assist teams and also investigates and self-reports potential rules violations to the NCAA. He also played a key role in the university and athletic department's completion of its transition to the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2014.
Paz also serves as the sport administrator for the softball program.
Before joining the Panther administration, Paz served nearly four years at assistant compliance director at Marshall. With the Thundering Herd, he also worked with all sports and developed expertise in recruiting, initial and continuing eligibility, and financial aid. Before going to Marshall in May 2008, Paz spent one year as a compliance intern at Miami (Fla.)
Paz earned his bachelor's degree in sport administration from Miami in May 2008, and he added a master's degree in sport administration from Marshall in December 2008.
A native of Miami, Fla., he is married to the former Amanda Williams.
