Sacramento, Calif.--The No. 38-ranked Georgia State women's tennis team fell 5-2 at No. 43 Sacramento State on Monday.

The Panthers (4-3) received victories from sophomore Abigail Tere-Apisah and freshman Masa Grgan in singles. Tere-Apisah, the No. 58-ranked player in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Women's Singles rankings, improved to 7-0 this season with the win. She dispatched Sacramento State senior Tatsiana Kapshai, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 1 singles and snapped Kapshai's five-match winning streak with her victory.

Grgan followed that win with a victory of her own at No. 4 singles. She beat Hornets sophomore Sophie Lohscheidt, 7-5, 6-0, to even her record at 4-4 on the year in singles.

The No. 3 doubles team of Grgan and junior Martina Ondrackova improved to 6-1 this season with a 8-4 triumph at No. 3 doubles.

Monday's match was moved indoors due to expected rain in the Sacramento area. The Panthers, led by fifth-year head coach Miha Lisac, are the fourth ranked team Sacramento State (7-3) has faced this season.

Georgia State's spring break schedule continues on Wednesday. The Panthers travel to Santa Barbara, Calif., for the second of three matches in California this week. GSU squares off with No. 66 UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday (4:30 p.m. EST). Visit the women's tennis page on following Wednesday's match for a full recap and a box score.
