Santa Barbara, Calif.--The No. 50-ranked Georgia State women's tennis team earned a dominating 6-1 victory at No,.66-ranked UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday.

Georgia State (5-3), led by fifth-year head coach Miha Lisac, looks to post a 2-1 week as it wraps up its three-game California road trip on Friday at Fresno State (2 p.m. EST).

Sophomore Abigail Tere-Apisah continued her hot start to the season with a 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles over senior Natalia Lozano. Tere-Apisah, the No. 54-ranked player in the ITA Women's Singles Rankings released on Tuesday, is now 8-0 to start the season. She squares off against the No. 42-ranked singles player in Fresno State's Marianne Jodoin on Friday.

Georgia State began the match by earning the doubles point thanks to victories at No. 1 and 2 doubles. Lerova and junior Whitney Byrd earned a 8-2 victory against Gauchos freshman April Scatliffe and Lozano, and Tere-Apisah teamed with sophomore Maryna Kozachenko to earn a 8-2 win over UCSB senior Jordan Dockendorf and sophomore Kiersten Meehan to clinch the doubles point.

Kozachenko and Byrd also notched singles victories on the day. Byrd, playing at No. 3 singles, earned a 6-2, 6-4 win over Meehan while Kozachenko dispatched Scatliffe 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4. Freshman Chaimaa Roudami improved to 6-2 on the season with a 6-2, 6-4, victory vs. Dockendorf at No. 6 singles.
