Junior wide receiver Jordan Giles makes his moves with the Panthers’ offense as the third leading receiver and touchdown scorer in the first two seasons.
The 6-1, 195-pounder averaged 16.5 yards per catch last season with 16 catches for 264 yards and four touchdowns. He had three catches over 30 yards last season, topped by a 55-yard touchdown play. As a freshman, Giles scored two touchdowns and had a longest reception of 48 yards.
Giles made his move to special teams and went into the record books as the player to block the first punt in school history as he did that in the opening season win over Lamar. He also can say he scored a touchdown in the inaugural GSU football game, scoring on a 16-yard play in the win over Shorter.
A native of Columbia, S.C., Giles gained more than 1,000 yards with 77 catches his final two seasons at Spring Valley High. A talented athlete, he also starred in basketball and track in high school.
