One of the newest things about this year's team will watching as coach Anthony Midget makes his moves in his debut as the defensive coordinator of the Panthers.

After serving as the secondary coach and the special teams coordinator in the first two years of GSU football, Midget is now challenged with improving the Panthers' overall defense.

He made his move into college coaching as a graduate assistant at Virginia Tech, his alma mater, and had been a high school assistant coach for five years.

As a player, Midget was an All-America defensive back at Virginia Tech, playing in the national championship game in 1999. He tied a Big East record with three interceptions in a game (against the Miami Hurricanes). He was drafted in the fifth round by the Atlanta Falcons and later spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Make your move to watch the Panthers at the Georgia Dome this season, starting with the opener on Thursday, August 30.
