ATLANTA--The Georgia State
men's tennis team announced the arrival of a former University of Nebraska standout,
Robert Schulze, as an addition to the team beginning this fall.
Schulze
transfers to Georgia State after a successful two years at Nebraska, the former
home of new GSU men's tennis head coach Joerg Barthel. Schulze brings a successful
doubles game and adds a solid singles player to the Georgia State lineup.
"I
am extremely excited to have Robbie transfer to GSU" first-year head coach
Joerg Barthel said, "We have worked together for two years at Nebraska and he
had a breakthrough Big 10 season last year. He brings a wealth of experience to
our program and will be a great addition."
Schulze
earned a 28-17 record in doubles play across his two seasons of play. He went
15-9 in doubles last season, the second most doubles wins on the team. Combined
with fall results, Schulze owns a 35-21 record in doubles for his career.
The
Frankfurt, Germany, native won 12 matches across two seasons in singles play
during the dual-match season. He primarily played in the No. 5 and No. 6
singles positions.
Georgia
State begins its fall season in early October.
