Georgia State students, alumni and fans are invited to get in the Homecoming spirit by joining Panther Nation at Atlantic Station Wednesday evening from 7-10 p.m. Don't miss this evening of fun and entertainment with a GSU football theme at the popular Midtown community.
Featuring live music, entertainment, games, giveaways and food vendors in the Central Park area, Panther Nation at Atlantic Station will get fans ready for the GSU football team's Homecoming game versus Villanova, scheduled for Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the Georgia Dome.
Panther Nation at Atlantic Station is sponsored by Spotlight and the Student Government Association. The GSU Hospitality class will also take part by putting on a tailgating exhibition.
The GSU football team will be on hand, and the Panther men's and women's basketball teams will be signing autographs and handing out free posters. The Georgia State band, cheerleaders and dance teams will be performing.
Among the food giveaways for GSU students will be NOS energy drinks and free hot dogs from Skip's Chicago Dogs. The GSU Alumni Association will give away free cotton candy. Various Atlantic Station restaurants will offer food and drink specials during the event.
GSU students can receive discounts at several Atlantic Station merchants during the event.
Younger fans can enjoy a bounce house and other family-friendly games and inflatables.
Free shuttle service is available to transport students from the GSU campus to Atlantic Station. Shuttles begin at 6:30 p.m. and will pick up on campus at the Student Center and at the University Commons. For those wishing to drive, two hours of free parking is also available at Atlantic Station. Atlantic Station is also accessible by MARTA; exit at the Arts Center station and ride the free Atlantic Station shuttle.
This week's event is the second of three scheduled for this fall. Panther Nation at Atlantic Station will also take place on Thursday, Nov. 1, prior to the Panthers' home finale and the final game at the Georgia Dome for head coach Bill Curry (Nov. 3 vs. Old Dominion).
