Russell, Wilson, Woodard Honored as Team MVPs

ATLANTA--Donald Russell, Albert Wilson and Terrance Woodard are the Most Valuable Players for the 2012 Georgia State football season.

The 2012 team and staff gathered for the final time for Thursday's team dinner.

Russell, the senior running back, and Wilson, the junior wide receiver, were named Co-MVPs on offense, while Wilson was also chosen as the Most Valuable Special Teams Player. Woodard, the junior defensive tackle, was honored as the Defensive MVP.

Russell, junior safety Kail Singleton and junior long-snapper Scott McQueen were chosen as the permanent team captains.

Senior linebacker Akeen Felder and junior linebacker Mark Hogan were honored as the team's Scholar-Athlete Awards.

Felder also received the Iron Man Award for his work in the strength and conditioning program.

A pair of defensive linemen, true Jah-Mai Davidson and Kentucky transfer Nermin Delic, were selected as the top scout team players.

Senior running back Rosevelt Watson received the Magnanimitas Award from head coach Bill Curry. Magnanimitas is a Latin word meaning "greatness of spirit."
