Auburn, Ala.--Sophomore Masa Grgan notched the No. 62-ranked Georgia State women's tennis team's lone singles victory on the day as the team dropped a 6-1 match on Saturday at No. 68 Auburn.

Georgia State fell to 2-3 on the season while Auburn improved to 4-1. The win was Auburn's second over a nationally-ranked opponent this season. The match was Georgia State's fifth vs. a nationally-ranked opponent in as many matches this season.

"Auburn is a good team that played very well today," sixth-year head coach Miha Lisac said. "We have a huge challenge this year by taking on such a difficult schedule. We knew going into this season that there would be ups and downs with such a challenging schedule. We are moving forward after this match and learning from the match so we can prepare for next weekend at Florida State."

Grgan battled to a 7-6, 6-3, win at No. 2 singles against Auburn's Michala Kucharova. It was Grgan's second singles victory of the season. She also paired with junior Abigail Tere-Apisah for an 8-4 win at the No. 1 doubles position. The win was the third for the doubles team, ranked No. 19 in the ITA National Doubles rankings.

The Panthers next travel to Florida State for two matches next weekend against UCF and No. 29-ranked Florida State. Visit the women's tennis page on next week for a preview of the two matches next weekend.
