ATLANTA — The Georgia State track and field team had several student-athletes accepted into the prestigious 69th annual Pepsi Florida Relays, which will be held this week on April 4-6 in Gainesville, Fla.

The meet is hosted annually by the University of Florida at Percy Beard Track at James G. Pressly Stadium. The Panthers will compete in three meets hosted by members of the SEC during the 2013 season.

GSU had 10 individuals accepted into 11 events along with two relays teams. The Florida Relays accept only a set number of entrants into each event. The accepted entries were announced on Saturday.

The meet will include competitors from a number of college teams, including fellow Sun Belt teams Florida Atlantic, Florida International and Western Kentucky.

Last weekend, the Panthers had several top-finishes at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Georgia Tech in Atlanta. The Panthers got a pair of second-place finishes from Anna Sinclair in the steeplechase and Valentin Poncelet in the 5,000m. Jennifer Rubel placed third in the 5,000m.

The women’s 4x400m relay team also finished second in their event at the meet. Niamh Kearney earned a fourth-place finish in the 800m. Denise Myers was fifth in the steeplechase and Caressa Reeves was fifth in the shot put.
