ATLANTA—Junior Abigail Tere-Apisah and sophomore Masa Grgan are No. 36 in the ITA National Doubles rankings and Tere-Apisah finished the season ranked No. 41 in the ITA National Singles rankings which were released on Tuesday.

The No. 41 ranking provides Tere-Apisah a great chance for an at-large bid to the 2013 NCAA Singles Championship held from May 22-27 in Urbana, Ill. It would be her second-consecutive trip to the tournament after advancing to the Round of 16 last year and earning All-American status in the process.

The No. 36 ranking for Tere-Apisah and Grgan provides the duo a chance to crack the 32-team field at the 2013 NCAA Doubles Championship. Automatic qualification into the Division I doubles championships is awarded to any conference with one or more eligible doubles teams ranked in the ITA Top 60 for eligible/entered doubles teams. For conferences with more than one doubles team within the ITA Top 60 eligible/entered doubles teams, the subcommittee applies the NCAA selection criteria to determine which doubles team is the automatic qualifier from those conferences.

The Georgia State women’s tennis team, led by sixth-year head coach Miha Lisac, wrapped up its season on Sunday by falling in the Sun Belt Championship finals to three-time champion North Texas. Check the women’s tennis page on GeorgiaStateSports.com for updates on the draws for the 2013 NCAA Women’s Singles and Doubles Championships. The draws for each event are released on May 1.
