ATLANTA—Georgia State men’s tennis senior Victor Valente earned yet another prestigious honor on Thursday by being named to the 2012-13 Academic All-District Men’s At-Large Team for District 4.
Valente, a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, maintains a 4.16 grade point average at Georgia State University. He majors in Computer Information Systems in the Robinson College of Business at GSU.
By earning All-District distinction, Valente advances to the Capital One Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third team honorees for this national distinction will be announced at the end of May. All honorees are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
“There is nothing else more to say about Victor other than he has been the quintessential student-athlete during his time at Georgia State,” first-year GSU men’s tennis head coach Joerg Barthel said. “He has been, and always will be, a tremendous ambassador for our program and a great role model for our student-athletes.”
Valente will begin play at the 2013 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships on May 22. Visit the Georgia State men’s tennis page on GeorgiaStateSports.com for complete coverage of the event.
