Amanda Hawkins joined the staff at Georgia State as a graduate assistant in July 2012 and was promoted to Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2014. In her current role, she works primarily with the court and beach volleyball teams. She also supervises the graduate assistant for men’s soccer and oversees medical files and injury records.
While working as a graduate assistant, Hawkins primarily worked with football, men’s soccer and cross country and track & field. She also assisted with men and women’s basketball gameday coverage, along with cheer and spirit teams.
Hawkins earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from South Carolina in May 2012. She developed as an athletic trainer working with football, baseball, and campus recreation while earning her degree. She also spent time working at Keenan and Brookland Cayce High Schools.
Hawkins is a Licensed Athletic Trainer by the State of Georgia and is also certified by the American Red Cross in CPR/AED/First Aid. She is a NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist and is also certified in Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization.
