KAZAN, Russia - Junior Georgia State tennis player Masa Grgan competed in doubles at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia. She partnered with Patricia Vollmeier and represented Slovenia.
Grgan hails from Maribor, Slovenia.
On July 9, Grgan and Vollmeier played their first match against Jozami and Jozami from Argentina. The Slovenian pair won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
The next day, Grgan and Vollmeier lost to the Russian pair of Pavlyuchenkova and Vesnina in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2.
In her sophomore season, Grgan became the first Georgia State women's tennis doubles team to compete in the NCAA Doubles Championship. She competed with fellow junior Abigail Tere-Apisah, and the two finished the season with a 14-2 record (3-1 against nationally ranked oponents).
Grgan will return for her junior season along with five other players for the 2013-14 season.
