ATLANTA - Robin Stephenson has been promoted to associate head coach of the Georgia State women’s tennis team. She was hired as an assistant coach for the Panthers in 2012. Stephenson is a former professional tennis player and All-American at Alabama.

In her new position, Stephenson will share duties with head coach Miha Lisac. Her day-to-day duties and recruiting responsibilities will increase from her previous role.

“I would like to thank Miha [Lisac] and Jamie [Boggs] for the opportunity and for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to be an integral part of the Georgia State women's tennis program during such an exciting and promising time,” Stephenson said. “I’m extremely excited about our upcoming season and the team that we have in place. I am committed to helping build this program to be nationally recognized year after year.”

Stephenson is a native of Kitchener, Ontario and graduated with a degree in communications and information sciences with a minor in psychology from Alabama in 2006.

The Panthers will return five of their top six singles players from last season.
