ATLANTA - The Georgia State men's tennis team will head to Elon, N.C., to compete in the Elon Invitational in the Panthers' second to last fall invitational this weekend.

The Panthers will have Thomas Cook, Sofiane Chevallier, Chinmay Handa and Christian Gochnauer compete in the singles draws, while Cook/Chevallier and Handa/Gochnauer will compete in the doubles draw.

Tennessee, Wake Forest, NC State, UNC-Greensboro, James Madison, USC Upstate and Georgia Southern are some of the teams the Panthers could face along their way to a title.

The tournament will begin Friday morning at 10 a.m. with singles matches. One round of doubles will follow the singles matches.

Saturday and Sunday will begin at 9 a.m. with doubles matches preceding singles matches. Singles matches will play best two-out-of-three sets, while doubles will play an 8-game pro-set with at tiebreaker at 7-7.

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to participate in this event," assistant coach Cesar Vargas said. "Elon has gathered a great field that includes perennial Top 20 programs such as Tennessee and Wake Forest, which obviously provides our team with a great opportunity to compete at a high level."
