FLUSHING, N.Y. - At the National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Friday, in the consolation draw, senior Abigail Tere-Apisah defeated the No. 4 player in the country.
This was Tere-Apisah's biggest upset in her four-year career.
After losing her first round match in the main draw on Thursday to the No. 2 player in the country, Tere-Apisah defeated California's Zsofi Susanyi, the fourth best player in the country. Tere-Apisah won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
Next up for Tere-Apisah in the quarterfinals is Michigan's Ronit Yurovsky.
The two will face off at 11 a.m. ET.
