ATLANTA – For the third time in as many weeks, senior Abigail Tere-Apisah was named the Sun Belt’s women’s tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. Tere-Apisah is currently undefeated in singles play at 7-0 and is 6-1 at doubles. She is also ranked in both categories.

The No. 10 singles player and half of the No. 33 doubles team earned the award after she improved to 7-0 in singles after picking up two wins against Arizona and No. 19 Texas Tech. She first defeated Arizona’s Lacey Smith at No. 1 singles 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 before taking down Texas Tech’s No. 115 Kenna Kilgo 6-1, 7-5.

In doubles, Tere-Apisah and Grgan defeated Arizona’s top duo 8-4 before defeating the No. 37 doubles team, Texa’s Tech Samantha Adams and Kenna Kilgo, 8-7. The Panther duo is 6-1 this season.

Up next for Tere-Apisah and the Panthers are two home matches with in-state foe Kennesaw State on Friday at 1 p.m. and No. 37 Columbia on Saturday at 2 p.m. Both matches will be at the Atlanta Athletic Club.
