ATLANTA - The No. 48 Georgia State women's tennis team will host a pair of matches this weekend at the Atlanta Athletic Club. The Panthers will face Brown on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Winthrop on Sunday at 11 a.m.
With its win over ACC opponent NC State, making it the third consecutive win for GSU, the Georgia State women's tennis team jumped 10 spots in the ITA team poll, moving up to No. 48. This is the highest ranking the team has had all season. The program record is 38.
The first opponent for the Panthers this weekend is 8-3 Brown. The Bears' three losses have come to Boston College, Yale and Princeton. Brown comes into Atlanta with a four match winning streak.
On Sunday, Georgia State will take on Winthrop, who is 2-3 on the season. The Eagles have defeated Charlotte and ETSU, while losing to College of Charleston, Furman and NC State. The Panthers defeated NC State 6-1 last weekend.
