Women's Tennis Heads to Florida for Pair of Matches

ATLANTA - The No. 65 Georgia State women's tennis team will head to Tampa, Fla., for a pair of matches with VCU and No. 46 USF. The Panthers (8-7) will take on VCU at 10 a.m. on Saturday and will face off with the Bulls at 11 a.m. on Sunday, both matches taking place at USF Varsity Tennis Courts in Tampa, Fla.

Up first for Georgia State is VCU (8-7), who is 6-2 in its last eight matches. The Rams' only two losses came against Mississippi and Memphis. The Rams have two singles players ranked in the ITA's Top 125: No. 105 Yukoko Noi and No. 110 Cindy Chala. 

On Sunday, the Panthers will face No. 46 USF. The Bulls are currently on a 10-match winning streak, including wins over No. 66 Tulane and No. 43 Memphis. USF's last loss came on Feb. 14 against No. 58 LSU. 

Georgia State is 6-2 in its last eight matches and picked up a win over conference opponent Louisiana-Monroe on March 21. Senior Abigial Tere-Apisah is ranked 13th in the nation in singles and 16th in doubles with partner Masa Grgan.

The Panthers have just three matches remaining before the Sun Belt Conference Championships in New Orleans, La., April 18-20.
