Men's Tennis Defeats Georgia Southern 6-1

STATESBORO, Ga. - In its regular season finale, the Georgia State men's tennis team defeated Georgia Southern 6-1 at the Wallis Tennis Center. 

The Panthers picked up their first point of the day in doubles, winning at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles. At No. 1 doubles, Robert Schulze and Jannis Koeke defeated Oliver Webb and Kyle Hoffman 8-4. By the same score, Felipe Jaworski and Sofiane Chevallier won at No. 3 doubles over Christian Kerrigan and Albert Codina Sala.

Georgia State then went on to win five of the six singles matches. At No. 1 singles, Schulze increased his winning-streak to five matches with his 6-3, 7-5 win over Webb. At No. 2 singles Jannis Koeke defeated Marco Osorio 6-4, 6-1. At No. 3 singles, Sofiane Chevallier defeated Hoffman 7-5, 6-3.

Eric Baum, at No. 4 singles, defeated Nico DeGroof 6-1, 6-3. Felipe Jaworski, at No. 5 singles, took three sets but defeated Codina Sala 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.

The Panthers will now look to the Sun Belt Conference Championship in New Orleans, La., which will begin on April 17.
