ATLANTA – Senior Abigail Tere-Apisah from women's tennis was named the Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week, powered by Georgia Power on Monday, following impressive performances last week.

Along with winning multiple accolades at the Sun Belt Championship, Tere-Apisah went undefeated during the tournament, never dropping a set.

On championship Sunday, she lost a total of three games between singles and doubles. After winning doubles 8-2 with teammate Masa Grgan, she won the No. 1 singles spot easily, 6-1, 6-0, to lead Georgia State to its first women's tennis conference title since 2009.

Earlier in the week, Tere-Apisah won Sun Belt Player-of-the-Year honors. She is currently ranked No. 20 in the country and along with leading Georgia State to the NCAA tournament, is expected to once again compete in the NCAA singles and doubles tournaments.
